MARTIN Murray’s reward for seeing off Venezuelan Jorge Navarro to claim the vacant WBA interim middleweight championship is a crack at brilliant WBC 160lb king Sergio Martinez in Argentina on April 27.
And to underline what a massive fight it is going to be, the news was announced by Argentina’s President Cristina de Kirchner.
The 30-year-old unbeaten puncher from Paddington showed he belongs in the big time with his last impressive performance.
It promises to be a cauldron atmosphere against the veteran 37-year-old champion.
Murray said: “I’ve had many texts about fans all saving up – it’s great everyone is up for it and I can’t be more made up that they are already making sacrifices to get over there.”
