RICHMONDS A stay top of Warrington Snooker League’s Division One thanks to Danny Thomas’ break of 40 pushing them to a 5-2 victory against Newton Social B.

Mike Cooney’s 43 break helped him win his frame in Newton Social A’s 7-0 whitewash of GESM A.

Irlam Cons’ Warren McDougall, 53, and Walkers B’s Paul Cowley, 56, gained the highest breaks across all divisions, but neither helped as both teams fell to defeat against respective opponents Roosters C and GESM B.

Rylands A move back into Division Two’s second spot after beating GTBL B 5-2, but their B team missed the chance to go top after losing 5-2 to Richmonds B.

Bridgewater Club’s 4-3 defeat of Monks C was helped by Andy Seymour’s 42, while in Division Three, leaders St Benedicts whitewashed Culcheth Sports A.

They are trailed by Woolston B, 7-0 winners at Kings Club, by only one point, but are well ahead of third-placed Penketh Tavern B.
