Warrington Ladies 9 Brooklands Poynton 3rd 0
WARRINGTON’S women got their Cheshire League season back on track with a nine-goals hammering of Brooklands.
Braces from Steph Rawlins and Jenny Day came off the back of short corners, with further goals from Marian Taig, Sally Fraser, Emma Barlow, Emma Bartlett and captain Louise Sullivan completing the rout.
Warrington's second team fought valiantly with only 10 players, but went down 6-0 at Macclesfield in Division Six despite a great performance from player-of-the-match Kirsty Anderson between the posts.
Warrington 4 Brooklands 6th 1
DOMINANT Warrington convincingly beat visitors Brooklands in the North West Men’s League Division Six North.
They were 3-0 up at the break thanks a smart finish by Tom Yates junior opening their account, before Ben Vickers and a reverse flick shot from Dave Yates senior completed the initial scoring.
A relaxed Warrington let Brooklands pull back a goal, but they had the final say when Billy Gilbert flicked in his first strike for more than three seasons.
