WARRINGTON Gymnastics Club celebrated success for two new champions at the weekend.

Ebony Gumbs and Kara Heaton were victors in their respective categories at the two-days North West Individual and Apparatus Championships in Wigan, beating the best of the rest in the region.

They were joined at Robin Park Arena by more than a dozen teammates.

Ebony finished first in the novice section to win gold overall, scooping silver on bars and bronze on vault.

Clubmate Kara delivered a clean performance in her category, producing impressive floor and vault routine, plus silver on bars and beam, to win overall gold.

Lucy Costello was runner-up behind her, with a best finish of second on vault.

Warrington’s Taylor Baker, the youngest in her section, was best on bars and second-highest scorer on vault to win a silver medal overall.

In the pre-novice group, some of Warrington’s youngest competitors were placed in the top 17.

Mollie Benson earned bronze on bars and narrowly missed out on a vaulting medal, placing 11th overall in a strong field ahead of teammates Saskia Fishwick and Maddison Bailey Moyes.

In the pre-novice second round, Catriona Harrison took gold on vault and silver to occupy fourth position at the finish.

Leonie McCormick was a worthy silver medal winner in the novice vault competition, matching Catriona’s feat of placing fourth.

In the same category, Emily Orrel was third on bars and Chloe Menzies third on beam.

In the level four junior section, Rosie Roberts had a clean competition to earn third on beam to rate fourth best overall too.

Jazzi Thompson was third on vault in the level three contest, the same place Chelsea Mealey ended on bars to conclude a successful competition for Warrington.
