Warriors pair earn qualification

WARRIORS of Warrington swimmers Coral Farrell and Adele Maguire impressed against older opposition at the North West Region Disability Championships 2012 at the Liverpool Aquatic Centre.

Points were awarded for how close the swimmers’ times were to the world record for their classification and these BDP (British Disability Point) scores determined the results of the races.

The 11-year-olds swam in mixed sex and classification heats against competitors who were many years their senior, but still managed to record some national qualification times, securing their entry into the DSE National Short Course Open Championships at Ponds Forge, Sheffield, on November 24 and 25.

Coral Farrell, swimming in the S10, SB9 and SM10 categories, amassed an impressive tally of 4542 points across 12 races, while Maguire, racing in the S9, SB9 and SM9 catergories, earned a combined score of 1421 across six events.
