Lymm Ladies 0 Timperley Ladies 2nd 2
LYMM Ladies fell to a rare defeat to visiting Cheshire Women’s Division One rivals Timperley.
Never allowed to play their usual pressing game, Lymm went in at half time level at 0-0 thanks to excellent keeping at both ends.
Lymm had perhaps edged the attacking play, but Timperley got the first breakthrough and as the hosts went looking for the equaliser the visitors struck to double their lead and settle the result.
Chester 3rd 1 Lymm Ladies 2nd 4
BOTH Lymm’s seconds and Chester had been promoted to Division Two at the end of the previous season, but Lymm’s players showed they had surpassed their rivals with a comfortable victory on the road.
Lymm looked the stronger side from the outset and opened the scoring when a penalty corner was converted by Sally Bircham to make it 1-0 at the break.
The visitors doubled their lead soon after the restart, a persistent team attack leading to Adele Shaw putting the final shot past the Chester keeper.
The hosts did manage to reduce the deficit soon after, but Lymm switched up another gear and further goals from Rachel Broadhurst and Bircham secured all three points.

AN astonishing game saw Lymm Men’s seconds fight back from a three-goal deficit with an incredible second-half fightback.
Spurred into action having dropped three down, Moorfield and Buck drove repeatedly and fed Shallcross for his first before he re-directed Ashford’s effort to cut the gap to one.
Buck’s goal-ward shot was deflected illegally and Talbot stepped forward to convert the penalty stroke.
With just thirty seconds left a short corner found its way to Talbot, who coolly flicked the ball past the keeper’s helmet to complete an superb win.
