Stockton Heath Flower Club Workshop
3:17pm Sunday 11th November 2007 in Stockton Heath Flower Club By Tracey Williams
by Tracey Williams
Stockton Heath Flower Club held its first workshop on Saturday 3 November.
The class was held for parents and children who have an interest in flowers.
Patricia Murphy led the class with two simple, but stunning arrangements.
The adult's arrangement contained a mixture of flowers and plant material: Black-eyed Susan, Anthurium, Miniature Gerberas, Carnations, Aspidistra leaves and various varieties of green and variegated foliage. The arrangement had height with Black-eyed Susan and flow with Anthuriums. Carnations, Miniature Gerberas and Aspidistra leaves being used to fill the base of the arrangement.
All the ladies were enthused by the success of their skills and proud to be taking their completed arrangements home.
The children used bottles and miniature Gerberas to create a trio arrangement. Various craft materials were used to decorate a background holder which then had a Gerbera pushed through before placing into the bottle container.
Due to the success of this first workshop future events will be organised and dates for these will be posted on the flower club website, also details of forthcoming demonstrations can be found on the flower club website: www.myweb.tiscali.co.uk/shflowerclub Stockton Heath Flower Club meets on the first Tuesday of each month (except January) in Appleton Parish Hall, Dudlow Green Road, Appleton, commencing at 7.30pm.
