AN animal -loving family from Gorse Covert are appealing for the owner of cat they rescued from a road to come forward.
Angela Davies says the male tabby, who her daughter's fiance Richard found lying injured in Birchwood Way, is pining for home.
But after taking the cat, who they have nicknamed Rocky', to their vet to be patched up, they found he was not microchipped and are appealing to Guardian readers for help.
"I've been all around the area looking for notices about lost cats but no-one seems to have lost one like him," Angela, a 48-year-old teaching assistant said.
"He's a lovely cat but very shy and spends most of his time in his cat basket.
"It's obvious he's pining and wants to go back to his owner, despite the fact that we've aready got four cats and they're all female!"
"The vet says he's very lucky we found him," Angela said.
"He's made a good recovery and Richard named him Rocky because he's been quite a fighter!"
The family, from Darnaway Close, are keen to reunite the cat with his owner.
If you know who he belongs to, call Angela on 818269.
