A PROPERTY on green belt land could be demolished and replaced with a new building.

An application has been submitted to replace the derelict Lawsons Farm building, on Ashton Road, Newton, with a new building to be used as a grain store.

The proposed building would be able to hold 900 tonnes of grain, harvested from the neighbouring land.

To fit in with the existing buildings, the roof would be in the same shape and colour and the walls would consist of concrete grain panels.

Public consultation for the application ends on May 14.
