COMMUNITY Day for Culcheth and Glazebury has been hailed a success despite conditions being likened to Glastonbury.

The annual May bank holiday event once again attracted hundreds of villagers and dozens of charities and community groups who manned the stalls. But despite intermittent sunshine, heavy rain in the days beforehand left Culcheth village green incredibly muddy.

"Someone said it was like Glastonbury, the ground was so wet!" joked organiser and Glazebury resident Delia Caswell.
