BURTONWOOD trekkers raised more than £400 during a sponsored walk in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

The group, from St Michael's Parish Church, walked around the Wheatcroft Wood nature reserve on the outskirts of the village as part of the Crocus Walk' for the charity.

Joanne Halsall-Jolley, organiser, said: "I think that we have done really well, especially for such a small organisation, and I am very grateful to everyone who has sponsored us so generously."

If anyone missed sponsoring the walk contributions can still be made. Cheques should be made payable to Breakthrough Breast Cancer and sent to Clive Stannard, 2 Cronulla Drive, Great Sankey, WA5 3HS.
