Road to nowhere

A COLLAPSED sewer on Widnes Road, Cuerdley, will cause a headache for motorists after United Utilities announced the road will be closed for two weeks.

Work starts near the Spice of India restaurant tomorrow, Friday.

Traffic will be diverted via Farnworth Road, South Lane, Watkinson Way and Fiddler’s Ferry Road.

Heavy goods vehicles will follow diversions via Sankey Way, Liverpool Road, Warrington Road and Fiddler’s Ferry Road.
