BLUEPRINTS to build chicken sheds on land off Clay Lane in Burtonwood have been turned down by the council.
The application for a lawful development certificate was denied after the developer provided ‘insufficient evidence’ when the plans were submitted.
Burtonwood parish councillor Alex Abbey, who strongly objected to the application, said it was ‘a very tenuous attempt’ to get planning permission.
He said: “The council has made the right decision. If they allowed this to happen then it would open the flood gates for this to happen anywhere.”
Clr Abbey raised concerns about the removal and disposal of waste from the sheds and was worried that the land could later be sold to a housing developer.
