WELL-WISHERS turned out to support the relaunch of the former Kent Street Mission building in Latchford.

The Mayor of Warrington, Clr Mike Biggin, opened the new Community Church after a £70,000 transformation thanks to £42,000 towards the cost from WREN.

Former Kent Street Mission member Robbie Burton, visiting from North Wales, said: “How wonderful to see the church building in good order again, its walls smooth and beautifully decorated, its floors stabilised and solid, and warm from a very efficient new heating system.

“Even more wonderful was the fact that it was thronged with people, all wishing the new Kent Street Community Church well.

“Kent Street Mission was always a very welcoming church and I’m delighted that it looks set to continue being so for a very long time to come.”
