A LATCHFORD lad has turned lunchtime entrepreneur after setting up his own takeaway carvery.

Neil Potter, of Reynolds Street, is going back to his roots by setting up Get Stuffed Takeaway Carvery on Warrington Market.

Neil started his working life as a 15-year-old working before and after school on Lymm market. He spend a further eight years on Warrington Market before moving on to work for a sport retailer in the town.

The 35-year-old said: “After working in Warrington for the last 20 years and buying what was on offer, I thought it was time for a change. I got the idea after a night out with friends. I’m a big carvery fan and suddenly thought to myself wouldn’t it be brilliant if I could buy a carvery to take back to work or home.”

With help from a small loan from Job Centre Plus after finding himself unemployed for 12 months he got the business under way.

“Getting the business off the ground has been hard work with a lot of blood, sweat and tears," he added. "Apart from the electrics, myself and a mate built the shop from the ground up. I needed to keep costs low so all my equipment is second hand and I’ve brought in a lot of favours.

“I want to show that it doesn’t matter what walk of life you’re from or what your situation is, if you’re determined and you have the right support, you can achieve what you want out of life.”

Get Stuffed is based in the front hall of the market next to Readens Fish and is open Monday to Saturday from 11.30am to 3.30pm.
