A LATCHFORD school soared to success in the 2014 Daresbury Laboratory School Science Prize.
In the 18th year there were more than 100 entries and Sir Thomas Boteler CE High School, on Grammar School Road, was the only school to have three finalists.
Year nine pupils Abigail Titchard, Natalie Clare and Charlotte Davies had to create a three minute presentation on ‘why I love science’ in front of five judges and were quizzed on their favourite scientists and challenges in science.
Up against schools such as Sale Grammar School, Withington Girls’ School, Helsby High School and Wade Deacon, in Widnes, competition was fierce.
Charlotte and Abigail received a certificate and a book for their efforts and judges unanimously chose Natalie as the winner.
