WINWICK Leisure Centre will soon have its own defibrillator on site.
The community raised almost £500 to buy the life-saving equipment at a charity race night, organised by Ken Morley, on April 4.
With a further donation from the Winwick football teams, the centre can now afford to buy the £1,000 machine.
The race night was organised following the death of seven-year-old Ciaran Latham-Geddes, who died in 2012 after suffering from a cardiac arrest while playing football with a group of friends.
