THE history and tradition of Grappenhall Walking Day will return to the streets of the village this weekend.
The popular event, which dates back almost 180 years, will this year take place on Saturday and includes the walk and summer fair.
The day will begin at 12.45pm with a celebratory community worship led by Rev Proudfoot, rector of St Wilfrid’s Church, on St Wilfrid’s School field.
The crowd will then begin their annual walk of witness around Grappenhall village, led by Dobcross Youth Band.
