WALTON Lea Partnership has re-opened its doors as it anticipates another memorable year with memories to cherish.

The project was closed from December 23 to January 5 but has already seen the sales spark return as residents across the town seek items such as upcycled furniture and recycled bicycles.

With the charity already back in the flow of things, attention now shifts to the next 11 months - a period earmarked to raise awareness.

"Since we re-opened the charity, it has been picking up quite well," said Lee Nunnerley, head of the partnership's resources and people development.

"We have also decided to open up the Walton site on weekends now so it gives people more chance to get to us, and we have brought in more furniture now too.

"We want to raise the awareness of the charity - it is a very big year ahead again for us all here."

Although preparations for the year and bringing in stock take a central role, Mr Nunnerley has raised the importance of remembering why the charity was formed.

"We do work on the commercial side of things but we must not forget what we are here for - that is helping people with difficulties," he added.

"All the money that we do make is put right back into the project to help continue the help we provide."

The charity's Higher Walton site, off Chester Road, will now be open on weekends from 10am-4pm.
