LYMM’S annual Rushbearing festival comes to the village on Sunday.
The event harks back to the Middle Ages when villagers would carry rushes into buildings to help keep the warm before the onset of autumn and winter.
The procession leaves Pepper Street car park at 4pm for a short service at St Mary’s Church at 4.30pm. It then returns to the village hall for celebrations.
