A TEAM of work colleagues will be swapping their calculators for climbing gear as they take on a 27-mile trekking challenge.

The staff at Premier Pensions and Tax Consultancy Ltd (PPTC) in Lymm will be taking part in Trekfest the Peaks in aid of Hope House Children’s Hospices in September.

Seven employees at the company, a firm specialising in the provision of pension and wealth management services, will be trekking the 27-mile route along the Peak District and hope to walk the full 27 miles in 12 hours. Fundraiser Hannah Penney said: “We are delighted that PPTC have chosen to support Hope House and in such a way too.

“The trek is going to be a challenge but I have every faith that they will complete it and do themselves proud.”

Based near Oswestry, Hope House Children’s Hospices cares for terminally ill children and their families from Cheshire, Shropshire, North and Mid Wales.

The charity offers respite and palliative care in one of their two hospices or within the family home through the team of out reach nurses. In addition to this, the whole family receives counselling and bereavement support.

Hope House’s bereavement support has been extended to the wider community, to any family who have lost a child in any circumstances such as a road traffic accident, fire, cot death or suicide and their expert counsellors support not only the family but will also visit schools to help fellow pupils and teachers cope with their loss.
