A CHRISTMAS tree will return to Padgate this December after a three year absence.
Council funding for the tree was cut in 2012, but it has been decided that the tree will return this December.
It will be located on Manchester Road, close to the Paddington House Hotel.
Cllr Ian Johnson said: “The council has been very careful with very tight finances over recent years.
“This continues, but we appreciate the pleasure that residents got from the siting of a lit Christmas tree and so budgets have managed to be arranged this year so as to allow the funding for one as part of the season’s attractions.
“The council was unanimous in agreeing this.”
