Window cleaner won’t
get left in the shade as he
marches in for Macmillan

A WINDOW cleaner has been given a shocking new look thanks to a Stockton Heath salon but it’s all in aid of a good cause.

Mike Quayle has dyed his hair and beard a bright shade of pink to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Care.

It is part of the 52-year-old’s Pink March challenge and is proving to be a talking point among his clients in the village.

Mike, of Elaine Street, Fairfield, said: “My ambition has been to do something that is attention seeking, shocking and hopefully raise money for charity.

“I had thought about doing something for charity but I’m not one for taking part in group things, I’m more of a solo fundraiser.

“I decided to grow a beard when I did not charge my razor overnight and so it’s just gone from there.”

The transformation took place at Peter Walsh Hairdressing, on London Road, last week and since then Mike has been catching customers’ attention.

“Some of my clients have already pledged to donate money towards it and I’ve already collected almost £200,” he said.
