Fundraiser is relishing challenge with Foundation

THE career ambitions of a young fundraiser from Appleton have been helped out by two charities.

Jonathan Levy has been taken on as a fundraising apprentice by The Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace thanks to support from youth charity Rathbone.

The 23-year-old, who is already a trustee of the Dyspraxia Foundation, has extensive voluntary experience supporting charities but had struggled to turn that into employment in the field until he asked for Rathbone’s help.

“Rathbone told me to prepare a list of eight charities I’d be interested in working for and encouraged me to contact them.

“I e-mailed The Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace and the next day the chief executive invited me for an interview,” said Jonathan.

Impressed by Jonathan’s knowledge and experience and fundraising efforts for good causes such as Brainwave, the Royal British Legion, Walton Lea Partnership and Warrington Disability Partnership, the foundation took him on.

Nick Taylor, chief executive of The Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace, said: “Jonathan’s passion has been a real asset to our organisation and we have found the partnership with Rathbone extremely positive.

“We would certainly look to take on more apprentices in the future.”

Since starting his apprenticeship, Jonathan has designed the organisation’s new annual fundraising plan and launched a number of new fundraising campaigns, including legacy fundraising and a lottery.

“I’m very ambitious and would like to work in fundraising for the foreseeable future,” added Jonathan.
