THE 'tireless' efforts of volunteers have been hailed following the success of Stockton Heath Festival.

The annual event, which took place from June 30 to July 3, attracted big crowds but festival director David Craggs said it would not have been possible without those behind the scenes.

He added: "This year's festival proved to be a great success with plenty of sunshine, activities and entertainment to suit all the community.

"We are indebted to the tireless work put in by the committee volunteers and over the weekend by an extra band of helpers including the Rotary Club, army cadets and residents.

"Sincere thanks to our sponsors, traders and businesses, without whom we could not stage such a growing festival.

"This is a weekend which brings together the whole community and we are grateful for their support and generosity.

"We will soon be getting ready to stage the tenth Stockton Heath Festival but a few weeks rest feels well deserved."
