A PROVIDER of homecare for the elderly based in Lower Stretton has been announced as one of the 'best small companies' to work for in the country.

Home Instead Senior Care, which is situated at Walnut Tree Business Centre, ranked in at number 56 on The Sunday Times' annual list.

After being established by husband and wife entrepreneurs Trevor and Sam Brocklebank, the franchise business' national office has been rooted in Warrington for the last nine years.

Its national hub is home to the company's nine-strong senior leadership team, alongside a team of experts who support its 175 franchise offices across business planning, training and development, care quality and standards, IT, finance, legal and marketing.

The organisation is the only homecare provider to feature in The Sunday Times top 100 small companies list.

The final standing recognised the firm's 'exemplary employee engagement' and chief executive Mr Brocklebank is predicting staff to continue flourishing.

It was also praised for its 'open culture and real family feel', which complements its ethos of delivering companionship care to the elderly.

Mr Brocklebank said: "We couldn't deliver excellence in homecare without having excellence in the workplace.

"Successful companies demonstrate that they value, respect and empower their employees every day. Ranking at number 56 endorses the fact that we are simply the best at what we do."

The ranking follows on from the receipt of three-star accreditation in the annual Best Companies survey.

Home Instead's latest report highlights that 91 per cent of employees believe the firm 'makes a difference', with 86 per cent saying working for it is 'anything but boring'.

Date-gathering and analysis techniques used by researchers to form the list have been labelled 'extensive'.

The process requires staff to fill out anonymous surveys so judgements can be made on bosses, working conditions and values in the workplace.
