WALTON Lea Partnership has spaces available on courses aimed at maximising the potential of adults with learning disabilities in the town.

Both lifelong learning courses, which start on June 17 and June 18, are aimed to increase the ability of learners to effectively deal with life choices.

The 'breaking ground' programme enables learners to make progress towards employment in gardening and horticulture.

While the 'life and social skills' course will assist those in attendance to tackle everyday situations.

The charity will host an enrolment day for both on Monday at its Long Lane Garden Centre site, in Orford.

"We want to make sure that everyone in the community knows these courses are available and that our approach is to work on the issues identified by each learner as being important to them," said Katie Jones, the charity's learning co-ordinator.

"This individual approach helps everyone realise what they are capable of and achieve their potential.

"Learners from our previous courses have been strong advocates for what they have learned, both outside and inside the charity.

"Some are actively encouraging best practice by sharing their experiences on the course with others."
