A TURKISH restaurant is anticipating a busy year ahead after re-locating just yards away from its Stockton Heath home.

A La Turka, based on Victoria Square, has changed homes after management decided to move away from its two floor restaurant, in preference of the more atmospheric single floor establishment.

With the launch night having taken place yesterday, Wednesday, attention now turns to persuading diners to indulge in the authentic cuisine.

P&J Group, which owns the eatery, carried out the refurbishment to benefit customers but is inviting anyone to pass forward their suggestions and comments to help continue improvements to the service provided.

"We were not going to move away from Stockton Heath - it is a great place to be," said general manager Oscar Gecim, aged 38, who has been working in the area for around three years.

"The last place was a good place to be but it was on two floors and now I think with the one floor, it will be more comforting for people who come in.

"We will be keeping on the same staff as we had in the last building."

Now the transition is complete, staff are raring to go and are hoping to make it a year to remember for diners looking to try the Turkish and Mediterranean classics.

"It was just all about getting everything together really and moving the things in that we needed to," said Mr Gecim.

"We have been taking quite a few bookings and hopefully people do keep coming to us."
