A NATWEST grant has enabled a Lymm man to go back to his roots and open a second hairdressers.

Adrian Lummis has opened The Original Barber Shop in the village.

And it is a real homecoming as Adrian was raised in Lymm where his mum Marlene owned and managed her own hair salon.

For more than 14 years Adrian has been running The Original Barber Shop in Stockton Heath where he has created a loyal customer base.

Adrian said: “The new store is quite traditional and has been fitted out based on the old school American barber’s style.

"Our slogan and ethos is ‘Be Original’ and the Lymm store has unique furnishings creating a nice atmosphere for customers.

"I’ve always wanted to open a business in Lymm and am thrilled to be able to so do.

He added: “Working in the industry has been a labour of love as we are often seen as the poorer family member of the hairdressing industry but in recent years you have seen more people wanting a better service and experience from their barber.

"It’s a great job because you get to be personable and have a chat with customers.”
