A WOMAN who has looked after hundreds of children in Lymm is chalking up an historic milestone.
Sandra Prue enjoyed a party to mark 20 years of service at St Mary’s Pre-School in the village – making her the longest serving member of staff.
Sandra started working at St Mary’s in 1994 after her own children, Lisa and Matthew, had attended it before moving on to primary school.
She said: “I love all the children I’ve looked after over the years and wouldn’t want to do any other job – it’s my world.”
The current pre-school class made a special picture for Sandra and presented it to her at a family barbecue.
She also received gifts from parents and staff including an ornamental planter and a celebration cake.
Valerie Dyas, pre-school committee chairman, said: “Sandra is a massive part of the St Mary’s family and we couldn’t imagine pre-school without her.
“She is a brilliant asset to our team and we hope she’s here for many, many more years to come.”
The pre-school is based on Crouchley Lane, next to Lymm Dam car park, and caters for children aged from two until they are ready to start school.
It is a registered charity and has been providing childcare to Lymm families for more than 25 years.
