GORSE Covert Scouts put the ‘super’ into their favourite comic book heroes when they attended the Cheshire Chamboree.
The event, at Tabley showground, included an ‘International Recruitment Institute for Superheroes’ along with themed camps like Gotham CIty, Manhattan and Metropolis to represent the homes of Batman, Spider-Man and Superman.
Youngsters from 9th Warrington East Scouts flexed their ‘super powers’ to try out an assault course, zorbing and jump slides and there was a survival zone with woodwork, sawing and rabbit and pigeon tasting. They later took part in a costumed world record attempt for the most people performing the Superman dance at one location at the same time.
The adventure also saw rock climbing, mobile caving, bell boating, go karting and zipwire challenges at Tatton Park, a cultural visit to Liverpool, science experiments with Cambridge University students and a stunt show from Jumping Jez.
