A TEENAGER could be on court with Rafa Nadal, Roger Fedderer and Andy Murray this year.

Faye Worrall, aged 14, is a step closer to fulfilling her dream of becoming a Barclays Ball Kid.

She is through to the final stage at this year’s Barclays ATP World Finals at the 02 in London in November.

Faye, a pupil at Birchwood Community High School, competed against 100 children in selection trials at the David Lloyd Trafford Club in Manchester.

Judges said she demonstrated impressive athleticism, agility, endurance, co-ordination, ball skills, balance, speed and team work.

Head trainer Mark Magrath said: “It was a great trial, very competitive, with a lot of strong athletes.

“It was really nice to see such a high standard.”

Three time Wimbledon champion Boris Becker is a keen advocate of the trials.

He said: “This is a great way for kids to get up close and personal with the top players of today.

“Anyone can have a go, all it takes is courage and discipline.”

Faye, of Templeton Drive, Fearnhead, competes in the final selection in London next month when a squad of 30 will be chosen from 100 across the UK.
