DON'T be alarmed, it's not a racket.
Eighty free memberships are being given away for a tennis club after a housing association teamed up with Birchwood Leisure and Tennis Complex.
The free passes usually cost £132.50 and are being offered to Your Housing Group tenants in a bid to make the sport more accessible.
Andrew Edwards, Your Housing Group’s community projects manager, said: “It’s fantastic to have formed this partnership which gives residents a life transforming opportunity.
"The free places will enable our tenants to learn or improve their tennis skills and stay fit and active. You never know, we might even find the next Andy Murray.”
Michelle Smith, aged 37, a full time carer for her mother, added: “I used to play twice a week but I can’t afford it now, having given up work to look after my sick mother. The free membership is great. I just need to find someone to team up with.”
Numbers are limited to 20 places for each age group – mini, junior, adult and pensioner – on a first come, first served basis.
