OAKWOOD Avenue Community Primary School has won a top award in recognition of work to bring the world into the classroom.
The Padgate school has been given the British Council’s International School Award, which rewards work schools do with international classrooms.
Oakwood Avenue is partnered with schools in Xi’an, China and Tshepisa, South Africa which teachers believe improves global awareness.
The school also has a Chinese language and bases some of the curriculum on other countries and cultures.
Head teacher Gary Cunningham, said he was 'delighted' with the award.
John Rolfe, from the British Council, said: ‘The school’s fantastic international work has rightfully earned it this award."
