A STOCKTON Heath Brownie leader is standing down from her role after an impressive spell spanning more than 15 years involved with the group.

Barbara Heaven, Brown Owl for the 1st and 2nd Brownie units in the area, based at Stockton Heath Methodist Church, has enjoyed her spell in charge but has decided it is time to wave goodbye to the position.

Although Barbara is leaving the role, it is set to be another action-packed year for the Brownies, with much lined up over the course of the coming months.

Regular sessions are given at the church to educate the children involved, as well as practical sessions to allow a more hands-on experience.

Barbara's long-term spell in charge has been one to remember for her, along with the children, but now a new chapter is set to begin for the Brownies.

It has been a memorable year for Brownies in the town after six Culcheth Brownies received a letter from the Queen in July regarding her time with Girlguiding with the 1st Buckingham Palace Brownies.

The Brownie groups meet every Wednesday, for further information on how to get involved visit www.shmc.org.uk.
