RECORD numbers turned out for four days of entertainment at the 2014 Stockton Heath Festival.

The event saw a buzz come to the village as the event was blessed with sunshine to bring in more visitors than ever.

Now in its seventh year there were performances from Stockton Heath Methodist Dramatic Society, Oddsocks, Warrington Male Voice Choir, Turnpike Folk, Fake That and Diane Shaw.

And during the weekend at sites across Stockton Heath there was also the chance to see local dance groups, choirs and music from the George Formby Society.

Residents could also get involved with the art exhibition, this time held in St Thomas’ Church and a dog show.

And the ever popular scarecrow competition was won by The Red Lion pub with Stan the minion.
The event is run entirely by volunteers with support from businesses in the village.

Deborah Cook, co-ordinating director, said: “We must thank everyone that helped make the Festival such a success including our sponsors and all our volunteers. The community really got together and we hope everyone had a great time. Although we are finalising this years Festival we would welcome any ideas and comments to help us plan for next year. There is a short questionnaire again accessed via our website.”
