A CHARITY in the town has said a huge thank you to staff and customers at Chapelford Sainsbury’s after they marked the end of a successful 12 months as the store’s charity of the year.

A total of £4,242.76 has been raised for the Warrington branch of The National Autistic Society which has allowed them to expand the trampolining club and give more parents access to support meetings.

A spokesman from the charity said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Sainsbury’s Chapelford and all staff especially Jayne Leader for organising the whole year for us and making us feel very welcome.

“We have been very grateful indeed and the money which has been raised over the past 12 months will go a really long way to providing training sessions for parents and carers of children with autism.

“Being charity of the year has also enabled us to raise more awareness and resulted in more parents accessing our support meetings and training sessions.”
