A PENKETH PE teacher has not let Government cuts to school sports funding stop her from organising competitions for primary schools in the area.
Sue Jones had been funded through School Sports Partnerships but once the cash stopped she has carried on in her own time running leagues in different sports every Tuesday during half term.
A school spokesman said Sue had been doing a great job.
He added: “A trophy is also awarded to the player of the tournament for each team as nominated by each individual school's teacher/team manager.
“This type of league is unique to Penketh High and as a result we are now getting inquiries from schools across Warrington who would like to attend.”
