PUPILS from Penketh High School have been hitting the red carpet again after their latest film premiered at the Odeon in Westbrook.

The Heath Road school has been working in partnership with Neighbourhoods in Warrington Families and Wellbeing Directorate and Cheshire Fire over the past 12 months on a series of short community films.

They have been designed to raise awareness and offer guidance on issues such as domestic abuse, depression, healthy eating, distraction burglary, wheelie bin fires, fire safety and loan sharks.

Each one was filmed across Warrington and gives starring roles to Penketh residents and pupils who were all invited to the premiere.

Sian Boles, year 10 pupil, said “As a drama student it was really rewarding to take part.

“I got the opportunity to experience how films are made but also I learned more about the important issue of distraction burglary. Hopefully these films will be very helpful.”

The series is now available to view online at youtube.com/ warringtoncommunity.
