Students come to garden centre's rescue

A TEAM of students have come to the rescue after a garden centre sprang a leak.

When a pipe burst, flooding the meeting room at Long Lane Garden Centre, site manager Julie Groom called on John Dando, bricklaying tutor at Warrington Collegiate.

With help from a team of students, he mended the drain and lay flags to create a meeting room and lunch area.

Julie said: “The students are very enthusiastic, really polite and pleasant, which has been perfect for our clients.

“Once again we can’t thank you enough for coming to our rescue. We do hope to work with the college more in the future which I feel will benefit us both and build on the great relationship we have already established.”
