WARRINGTON Borough Council is considering a new way of keeping residents informed on key issues like roadworks and tree thinning.
Poulton with Fearnhead Parish Council has been calling for the borough council to use a new IT system that would allow enquiries and complaints to be better handled.
The parish council has suggested better kept computer records will mean council staff would be able to view areas where work is due to take place more easily.
Clr Ian Johnson, chairman, believes this would mean anyone complaining about issues like pot holes, overgrown trees or bins not being emptied, can be told quickly if action is due to be taken.
He said: "During communications over the past 18 months or so, we have recently gathered that the borough council now agrees (a new IT system) is a good way forward, and are now looking at cost, benefit and suitability."
Clr Johnson believes the current IT system used by the borough council means information can be hard to access, resulting in a lack of information made available to residents.
He wants locations like parks to be registered, and all work associated with that location clearly recorded.
