A WOOLSTON cheerleading group needs your help to revamp its home.

Knights American Cheer train at their base on Grosvenor Grange, with the group recently securing podium finishes in a regional tournament.

Officials are ‘desperately’ trying to raise £10,000 for a new spring floor for the athletes to use during training.

Angeline Rees, is club treasurer at KAC, which caters for boys and girls from age four to adults.

She said: “National and regional competitions use spring floors so it helps for the athletes to practise in similar conditions, and progress much more quickly.

“Fundraising has been going very slowly as we have spent money on structural problems in the building.”

Mrs Rees say KAC offers users a vital form of keeping fit.

She added: “Children these days are spending a lot of time on computers. Cheerleading is a good way for them to keep fit, and make new friends, which is obviously a very exciting thing.”
