AFTER more than 30 years in teaching, Trina McQueen is now serving up dishes that score top marks on the palate and in the pocket.
Trina shared her thrifty recipes with 28 members of the mothers’ union at St Oswald’s Church Hall in Winwick.
The talk was part of the Let’s Get Cooking project, which aims to reduce food waste.
Trina, from St Helens, said: “We tend to make too much mashed potato and too much boiled rice but instead of throwing the excess away we can create other tasty dishes from leftovers.”
