TWO good causes will benefit from a cash boost of £1,370 following an auction at Appleton College.

Year 12 pupils at the sixth form college, on Hall Drive, divided the funds between Macmillan Cancer Support and Alder Hey Leukaemia Research Trust Fund.

The students raised funds through a charity auction which ran over three days.

Pupils and staff bid on prizes which ranged from trips on barges to meals in Stockton Heath.

The teenagers chose the charitys to show support to the organisations that helped a student who is in remission from cancer.
