A LOWER Stretton homecare provider has raised £100,000 which will go towards putting 'the fun and joy back into ageing'.
Home Instead Senior Care, which is situated at Walnut Tree Business Centre, set up the 'wish-granting' Bring Joy Foundation just over a year ago to support groups working with the elderly across the country.
Since the initiative was launched funds have allowed the charity to organise a number of events including days out to the seaside, cinema nights and vintage tea parties.
A total of £100,000 has been raised so far, with Home Instead's co-founder Sam Brocklebank admitting it has left her 'filled with pride'.
She added: "Raising a staggering £100,000 to put the fun and joy back into ageing has been a wish come true.
"Seeing the smiles, the glints in people's eyes, the happiness and laughter that have brought the ethos of the Bring Joy Foundation to life is the true mark of our success.
"As we move into our second year we're calling for more groups and organisations to apply for a donation from the Bring Joy Foundation so we can help make their dreams come true too."
