ST Thomas' Primary School pupils are jumping for joy after its netball team's memorable year in action.

Year six pupils from the school, based on Parkgate Road, won both the Warrington South and Warrington finals following fine performances on the court.

The team also finished third in the Cheshire County Finals.

Head teacher at the school, Ian Moss, has hailed the team's performances and is confident of more success in the next campaign.

"Everyone at St Thomas’ is very proud of the team’s success, achievements and fair play this year," he said.

"The children have worked really hard over a number of years and thoroughly deserve their moment in the spotlight.

"Congratulations to players, coaches and parents - we wish them every success in the future."

It is set to be a busy summer for the school, with a number of events penned into the diary.

A sports festival will take place at Broomfields Leisure Centre in Appleton on June 9 and a Bridgewater High School induction day has been set up for year six pupils the week after.

The annual sports day event is on July 1 before an exciting trip to Dunham Massey for year one pupils the following day.
