A STOCKTON Heath parish councillor is calling for 'dreadful' pavements in Stockton Heath to be improved to avoid serious injuries.

Cllr Sonia Boggan (Latchford without ward) has regularly raised the matter at parish council meetings in recent months but has become frustrated with the lack of action taken.

The main area of concern is on Grappenhall Road but the state of the pavements are not the only issue.

"The pavements there are just dreadful and there has not been any change on them but we will have to see what happens," said Cllr Boggan.

"There is also a carpet of wet soggy leaves on the path which is dangerous for people who are walking by.

"The problem has been like this for a considerable amount of time now.

"My friend fell over on the footpath and had a nasty fall and I am worried more injuries will be caused - something needs to be done."

Cllr Celia Jordan (LD - Stockton Heath) backed the views of her fellow parish councillor and was also critical of the paths.

She said: “The Grappenhall Road footpaths are in a terrible state."

Parish councillors discussed the matter at this month's meeting and are likely to bring it up next month.
