A-board boundaries

STOCKTON Heath business overstepping their boundaries and putting out A-boards in restricted areas will be targeted by Warrington Borough Council.

The council's principal planning officer for environmental enforcement, Richard Evans, was at last week's Stockton Heath Parish Council meeting to deliver his plans on how to deal with the problem.

Mr Evans said that around nine of the boards were on the 'highway', for which planning permission is required.

"We have a zero tolerance policy to it so if you see any boards where they should not be, then please let us know," he added.

"If there are any, we will ask the highway team to move them."

Parking at Morrisons

MORRISONS' parking limit announcement is continuing to anger residents who believe the move is a needless decision.

Shoppers risk facing an £80 fine after a measure was implemented to prevent parking for more than two hours.

Stockton Heath Parish Council deputy chairman Stephen Taylor believes there is a solution to suit all parties involved - in particular those who want to continue their shopping down the road.

"If people who have parked at Morrisons want to go into Stockton Heath after shopping at Morrisons then there could be, say, a 50p charge for them," he said.

Getting leafy

THE overflow of leaves in Stockton Heath is set to cause a 'nasty accident', according to a parish councillor.

Cllr Sonia Boggan (Latchford without ward) has urged action to be taken to clean up roads in the area, in particular on Grappenhall Road.

Two leaf vacuums have been bought by Warrington Borough Council to help combat masses of leaves across the town at the end of last year but it seems the problem is still causing issues.

"Grappenhall Road is washed with leaves - someone will have a nasty accident," said cllr Boggan, at last week's Stockton Heath Parish Council meeting.

Album launch

AN aspiring singer-songwriter believes this could be his breakthrough year after announcing plans to release his first album.

Josh Healey has started writing material for the project - set to be released towards the end of the year - but admits there is still a long way to go.

"It is a really exciting time for me at the minute and a lot is going on, with the new album hopefully being released at the end of the year," said the 21-year-old.

"I will be trying to cover a lot of themes in the album."

Scenic walk

RESIDENTS are invited to a scenic three-mile walk through Moore Nature Reserve on Saturday, including areas overlooking the River Mersey at high tide.

The walk will take place through the reserve to Upper Moss Side - a neighbouring site owned by the Forestry Commission.

Those taking part can expect to complete the walk by dusk.
