STRAIGHT out of the streets of Appleton are two young girls now ranked seventh in the world of street dance.

Bridgewater High School pupil Amina Houda, aged 13 and Izzy Webster, aged 12, who attends The Grange School in Northwich, took on the cream of the crop at the World Street Dance Championships in Glasgow last month where they finished seventh.

They both attend AT Dance, on Sandy Lane, Stockton Heath where they have been studying ballet, tap and modern dancing for more than 10 years but less than a year ago took up street dancing too.

After qualifying at a Birmingham heat they took on more than 30 countries and 200 competitors in the under 14 category.

Principal Karen Speers said: "We are so proud of the girls, they have only just started competing this year and to achieve this award is amazing. They are not only talented dancers in street, but also in ballet, tap and modern and are a delight to teach. They have an amazing street coach and choreographer Heidi Reading who was herself also a world champion."
