A NUMBER of new faces have been selected to run Lymm Festival.

The popular summer event has become so successful that it also includes a series of winter warmer events to keep fans entertained throughout the winter.

Previous director Jacquie Davies has had to step down due to increased work commitments and her role has been split into two.

Dave Sawyer has been with the festival for a few years but has now taken on the role of events director. Lauren Sanders has joined as marketing and publicity director.

A number of other new faces with varying skills and experience have also joined the committee.

Chairman Ian Marks said: "I am delighted with the team we have in place. It is always good to bring in new blood with a fresh set of ideas.

"We are very pleased with last year’s festival and the challenge for the team is to put on an even better event next year.”

Dave Sawyer added: “We are now busy planning our Winter Warmer events.

"We are holding another of our great film shows in October followed by our legendary Blues Night in November.

"In February comedian and raconteur Arthur Smith of ‘Grumpy Old Men’ fame will be performing and in March there will be an evening led one of the region’s finest acoustic musicians.”

Lauren Sanders said: “Since joining the team, I have been very impressed with the enthusiasm of the members.

"One of my tasks this year is to reach out to neighbouring areas to attract new people to come to our events. People from Lymm and the immediate surrounding areas are great supporters but we need to tell others what a great Festival we put on."
